Trace

Terms of Service

These terms explain the rules for using Trace, including accounts, saved content, subscriptions, AI outputs, and public share links.

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Trace. By creating an account, using the browser extension, saving research, generating briefs, or subscribing to a plan, you agree to these terms.

Accounts and Workspaces

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate account and billing information and keep it current.
  • Workspace owners are responsible for managing member access and ensuring members are authorized to view saved content.

Acceptable Use

  • Do not use Trace to violate laws, infringe intellectual property rights, or collect content you are not allowed to access.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security controls, rate limits, plan limits, authentication, or billing systems.
  • Do not upload malicious code, abuse public share links, scrape Trace, or interfere with service availability.
  • Do not use Trace to process highly sensitive regulated data unless we have agreed to support that use case in writing.

Your Content

You retain ownership of research, notes, URLs, page text, and other content you submit to Trace. You grant Trace the rights needed to host, process, search, summarize, transform, display, and share that content solely to provide and improve the service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and permissions needed to save, process, and share content through Trace.

AI Outputs

Trace uses AI-assisted workflows to summarize saved research, extract facts, run semantic search, and generate briefs. AI outputs may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Trace does not provide legal, financial, or professional advice, and you are responsible for reviewing outputs against the cited sources before using them.

Plans, Billing, and Limits

  • Some features require a paid subscription and may be subject to save, search, brief, project, or workspace limits.
  • Subscriptions renew until canceled through the billing portal or another supported cancellation flow.
  • Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Refunds, credits, and billing exceptions are handled at Trace's discretion unless required by law.

Public Share Links

Trace may let you create public links to selected research packets or saved material. Anyone with the link may be able to view the shared content. You are responsible for the content you share and for revoking links when access should end.

Service Changes and Availability

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features as Trace evolves. We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Termination

You may stop using Trace at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for the service, fail to pay required fees, or use Trace in a way that could harm other users or providers.

Disclaimers and Liability

Trace is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trace disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Trace will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product or legal requirements change. Continued use of Trace after an update means you accept the revised terms.
