What Trace Does

Trace is a pricing and positioning evidence workspace. You can save pages, reviews, threads, notes, and other research, then search and summarize that saved material with AI-assisted workflows.

Information We Collect

  • Account information such as your email address, authentication provider, workspace membership, and basic profile details.
  • Research content you choose to save, including page URLs, titles, page text, notes, extracted facts, tags, summaries, and generated briefs.
  • Usage information such as saves, searches, brief generation, plan limits, timestamps, request metadata, and product events needed to operate the service.
  • Billing information handled by our payment provider, including subscription status, plan, invoices, and payment identifiers. Trace does not store full card numbers.
  • Support information you send to us, including email messages and any diagnostic details you choose to include.

How We Use Information

  • To provide account access, saved research storage, semantic search, AI summaries, generated briefs, and share links.
  • To process subscriptions, enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and secure the service.
  • To improve product reliability, user experience, onboarding, and support quality.
  • To communicate service updates, security notices, billing notices, and support responses.

AI Processing

Trace may send saved content, notes, or user prompts to AI service providers to generate summaries, extracted facts, embeddings, search results, and briefs. We only send the content needed for the requested workflow.

AI outputs can contain mistakes. You should verify generated summaries, briefs, and recommendations against the cited source material before relying on them for business decisions.

Sharing and Service Providers

We share information with service providers that help us run Trace, including authentication, database, hosting, AI processing, payments, analytics, logging, and email support tools. These providers are authorized to process information only for service operations.

  • Workspace members may access content saved inside the same workspace according to their role.
  • Anyone with a public share link may view the content exposed through that link until the link is revoked or disabled.
  • We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate abuse of the service.

Retention

We keep account and saved research data while your account or workspace is active, unless you delete it or request deletion. Some operational logs, backups, billing records, and security records may be retained for a limited period where needed for compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or service reliability.

Your Choices

  • You can delete saved research, notes, projects, and share links from the product where those controls are available.
  • You can contact us to request account deletion, export assistance, or correction of account information.
  • You can manage billing through the customer portal when subscribed to a paid plan.

Children

Trace is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Trace, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify account owners or make the updated policy visible in the product.
